Summary:
Doing a project based strictly on portraits was interesting because there were different factors to take into consideration when studying the composition. The rule of thirds, for instance, was able to be broken if you wanted to viewer to focus only on the subject. Doing this project was difficult because the fuses had blown out, forcing us to use only dramatic lighting and flash, which created strong shadows that had to be remedied in the editing process through adjusting the brightness and contrast. I feel like this project would have been more effective if we had more opportunities to shoot, because it felt kind of rushed.
